It’s not in dark alleys or parking lots, as commonly believed. Only a small percentage of assaults occur in these places. Most assaults occur in familiar places and by someone known to the victim. College parties, Dorms, In the home, at school, at work, social gatherings, bars and restaurants, friends homes, Traveling, running or hiking, or crimes of opportunity.
