Great question. The vast majority of assaults occur in social situations by someone known to the victim. Only about 5% of assaults occur in parking lots or dark alleys, when you might have a keychain handy. Parties, dorms, apartments, homes and other familiar locations where you are very unlikely to have a keychain ready and accessible. Keychains are great and we support having one but our goal is to be accessible and easy to activate whenever and wherever you need it.

Just like with keychains, they can be valuable if you have them in your hand or accessible at the right moment. A very small percentage of attacks occur on dark streets or parking lots or places where you might have pepper spray or mace handy. Our goal is to be there for you anytime and anyplace you need help.

There are safety devices on the market that will call 911, or send your gps location to your contacts but there are no wearable bracelets or jewelry that have an alarm to deter an attack. Our alarm is loud, and our engineers can attest to how disturbing the sound is!

Blaire bracelets can be used for several differerent purposes. They are primarily meant for stopping an assault when it happens by means of pressing a button to set off a piercing alarm. It can also be used to scare off an intruder in your home, or if you feel threatened in any situation. It also works well for older or infirm people who may have fallen and need to summon help.

The alarm will go off for up to an hour but can be shut off by pressing the button for 3 seconds at any time.

No, this device is intended to stop an assault before it happens or before it goes too far. It is highly effective and designed for maximum loudness at the most disturbing frequency for human ears to make the assailant desperate to get away from the sound. It will not call 911 or your contacts but is meant to allow you deter an assault and to get to safety.

The battery will need charging approximately every six months. If the alarm is used, the device will need to be charged.

Your Blaire is water resistant which means you can get it wet and it will be fine but swimming or full immersion in water is not recommended as it will damage the components.
